Tiltaway Beds
Academy supplies and installs a variety of sizes of Tiltaway beds in both a vertical and side tilt version. Please see the PRICE LIST (it includes dimensions) to see if you have the space available in you room. Generally if you can fit a normal bed in there you will fit a Tiltaway bed.
The Tiltaway Bed is a spring mechanism which is adjusted to suit your mattress, it is very easy to put up and down, but on the other side it will not fold up on you. The beds are not heavy at all and very simple to use. We do have a mechanism in our showroom for you to come and try. As long as you can reach the handles it won’t be a problem, and we can put longer handles on or position them a little lower if necessary.
Initially we ask you to look at the PRICE LIST to get an idea of pricing, and then if you still want to go ahead we will come out to do a formal measure and quote. The basic bed and mechanism is quite expensive which is why we supply you with pricing up front before coming out to do a measure and quote. It does seem expensive but when you look at the price of a decent sofa bed it is good value for money. A lot of our customers liken it to buying another room. We can design something for an awkward area incorporating a Tiltaway bed as long as you have the available space for the bed, then we can work around it. We are happy to quote customers who are that little bit further away and have done installations from Busselton to Geraldton. However we prefer to quote these jobs initially using customer measurements or house plans. Once you accept the design we will then visit your site to do a final measure. Our tradesmen are experienced in the installation of the Tiltaway Beds.
We offer our standard 10 year warranty on the cabinet works and the bed mechanism itself comes with a 15 Year Warranty.
